Hi Friends,

My daughter and I took my grandson to the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival. They say the average time there is 1-1 1/2 hours and we were there 3 hours. Johan was delighted with the lanterns and the interactive displays like when there was a drum that changed color and speed depending on how you drummed. (Pix by Brea Dargis)

My husband was put on 3rd shift (10pm - 6:30 am) on Monday when someone quit, so we have been making some adjustments. Thankfully the weather was good every day, but Tues and we could bring Johan outside so my husband could sleep.

1. Initiate a "one in, one out" rule for belongings.
2. Plan a family meeting to discuss and set shared goals.
3. Attend a local spring cleaning workshop or event. Take advantage of your city's large item pick-up or branch pick-up.
4. Plan a day for a nature-inspired DIY project. Like this bookmark.
5. Experiment with homemade cleaning solutions.
6. Set up a system for organizing and paying bills.
7. Schedule a technology-free weekend camping trip or another fun weekend without technology.
