Welcome to this week's tips
With a busier than normal week here with appointments, work obligations, etc. I have been playing with the idea that whatever is happening is what is supposed to be happening, instead of resisting what's going on with my pre-conceived plans and expectations. I love the feeling of peace it brings.
This week has been a snowy one here in West Michigan. My daughter, Brea, took some pictures in our backyard. From the bottom picture it looks like we had a visitor.
Finally, if you are struggling with decluttering - figuring out where to start, making decisions, focusing, letting go of overwhelm, dealing with sentimental stuff or things you may need someday, I would love to have you join the Declutter Group starting tomorrow. Get unstuck and move forward with your decluttering.
Weekly Simplicity Tips
If you don't have time to do all 7 tips, pick the one or two that are calling to you. Put them on your calendar or to do list.
Where can you best spend your energy this week?
Before you buy it, ask if you are willing to do the work to maintain it.
Say no to as many kid’s freebies as possible – kids’ meal toys, party favors, noisemakers – things that only amuse for a short time before becoming clutter.
Think more about what you do want rather than what you don't want.
What can you do for someone that would make them feel loved?
Ask your soul what it needs.
Finish a book you started.

January's Declutter Group Starts Tomorrow
What are your declutter plans?
Raise your hand if you have tried these before?
Cramming a year’s worth of decluttering into a day with nothing to show for it
Taking everything out of your closet, getting overwhelmed with the mess and then shoving it all back in a week later
Going through a pile then making even more piles with your sorting, which never seems to end
Reading a How to Declutter book, then getting sidetracked after a couple of days
Energetically tackling an area, then crashing with exhaustion before it was completed
Decluttering, with almost everything going into a maybe pile
Making a New Year’s resolution to finally declutter your house, only to find it December and the house looks the same as in January (or worse after a year of added clutter)
Sigh…
It’s OK, I did all of those myself. But, it is time to banish these ineffective methods forever.
Instead, let’s take the steps that really produce results.
It’s time for a systematic plan and a group to support you
I help the overwhelmed create saner, simpler lives.
I deliver…
Untamed possibility. Breathe easier simplicity. Hope.
On the wings of understanding and encouragement.
Step by step breaking down from “no way! “ to “why not?”
