Welcome to this week's tips
The last week of October is here. I finally got a couple really short walks in with my toe this week. (Pix by Brea Dargis)
I also turned 50 on the 24th with low key walking, music, reading and connecting with friends by phone.
Political tensions are also high here in the U.S. A good rule of thumb is if you can't say a person's position in a way they would agree with, you aren't understanding. It's easy to argue against some caricatured version of the "opposition" you are sure is true, then have conversations with people that are probably a lot closer in thought than you think - with the idea of understanding instead of winning an argument.
Remember the goal of media and politicians is to divide you by showing you the extremes as if that is every day people.
If you are getting anxious, turn off the news and talk to your friends. Volunteer. Take a walk in nature. (See my blog post from last election - be awake, be kind.)
