Welcome to this week's tips
Hi Everyone,

A low energy week for me here and more migraines. But I did go to the Dueling Pianos at the park with my daughter and friends singing along to Journey, Queen and off course the Piano Man song. A couple short walks in the humidity. I love the pictures of the vultures dancing around the moon. There were five birds in total. (Pix by Brea Dargis)

It's time for the August Declutter Calendar. Got behind? Doesn't matter, just start again with August 1.

I also opened registration last week to my Pleasant Projects course for those of you tired of telling yourself, "I work better under pressure." Projects don't have to be full of pressure - let's try a different way.

Weekly Simplicity Tips
  1. Don't be willing to judge a whole group of people (other side of politics, religions, races) based on the worst .01% of that group we see in the news or read in Facebook memes.
  2. Don't even read those outrage memes whose purpose is to get you to hate "the other side". Most are lies or taken out of context. And PLEASE don't share unless you fact check things. The last thing this election needs is half-truths and more outrage floating around.
  3. Habit I am working on - shutting cabinet doors and drawers when I am done.
  4. Turn off autoplay for videos in Facebook. Account settings --> Videos and Photos --> Autoplay --> Never autoplay videos.
  5. Take a look at your retirement planning. Are you on the right track? If not, what is one step you can take to save?
  6. Put away all internet distractions during your work period. You can peek on your breaks.
  7. If you were CEO of your life where could you make cuts or improve efficiency?
